ok... so three weeks... weve been back in the US for 3 weeks.. and we are adjusting... slowly.

but i feel like Ive seen this play before but i keep getting confused on what scene it is..

1st thing - if no one is driving on the road with me.. i forget which side im suppose to drive on.. oops

2nd thing - the choices of ice cream... we really need a dairy queen in kampala

3rd thing - thank God for deli turkey... oh yes

4th thing - my mom knows more about technology than i do... seriously

in the past 3 weeks ive been thrilled to be home, frustrated that i am home, and wanted to go back to Uganda many times - alot has changed in the almost 6 years i was gone

but one very important thing has remained the same..... Nick at Night is still on :)

Political Correctness

hmmm... we are not very politically correct in Uganda... my guess is most of the world is not.. which is ok to me. So take what Im about to say with that grain of salt.

On the way back home we went thru Dubai.. it was beautiful and such a contrast of cultures.. Coming from Uganda where we dress a bit more conservative, especially missionaries.. wow the dress today (yes I sound old) but girls and very grown women wearing shorts that barely come over the humps of their butts.. mercy
these women are walking around Dubai.. looking more like they should be on a catwalk or a street corner.. and walking next to them are men in their full conservative muslim clothes - a clash of worlds
and a nice transition into a world without mosques waking me in the morning and back to a world with funny clothes..
lots to get used to.. :)

Today was my last day at GBI
Very sad... but on the bright side - we got to go to the beach and have fish and chips

Today is a good day. And I plan on enjoying today - all day - tomorrow may come with its own stress, but today - oh today is a very good day :)
